Services
All patients are seen on an appointment basis. If you have a true medical emergency, please call 911.
Sick Child Visits
If your child is ill, please call our office between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., so an appointment can be made for that day. Please be prepared to briefly describe your child’s problem, and if appropriate, an appointment time will be given.
Well Child Visits
If you need to schedule a regular examination, please call several weeks in advance and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance, so we can open up that time for another child. A fee may be applied to your account for failing to keep a scheduled appointment.
All Office Visits
Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment, so we may adequately process your information. All new patients should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment. New patient forms are available here.
Saturdays and Sundays
On weekends, a nurse is available beginning at 7:30 a.m. to provide advice and schedule appointments for acutely ill children. There is an additional charge for Sunday visits. Appointments are limited, so please call early.
Triage 4 Pediatrics
UPA Too is now using a night-time nurse triage service called Triage 4 Pediatrics. If you need assistance after office hours 24/7, please call 1-800-665-2931 and a pediatric nurse will assist you, just as our nurses currently do in the daytime. The doctor on call is available through the nurse triage if needed.
Emails
We strongly encourage parents to use email for routine questions and non-emergency requests such as prescription refills. Please provide your child’s name and date of birth, and prescription information if applicable. Prescriptions may take up to 48 hours to process, so please plan in advance.
Telephone Calls
During regular office hours, the doctor or nurse might not be available when you call, and you may be asked to leave a voicemail. Please be sure to clearly leave your name, phone number, the name of your child and your child’s date of birth. Our nurses check messages frequently, and will respond to your call as soon as possible.
Billing and Insurance
UPA Too is currently accepting pediatric Medicaid patients and Children with Special Healthcare Needs. We have applied for certification under Texas’ Children’s Health Insurance Program, and expect approval soon. Please be prepared to provide your current insurance card at each visit. If you have any questions about insurance coverage, please call (979) 764-8308, and our staff will be happy to assist you.
